Former Super Eagles forward Michael Eneramo has reportedly passed away after collapsing during a routine training session in Kaduna.
According to reports, the ex-international striker was participating in a casual early morning kickabout at a primary school field in the Ungwan Yelwa area, close to his residence. Witnesses say Eneramo appeared fit and healthy, completing the first half of the session without any issues. However, just minutes into the second half, he suddenly slumped on the pitch.
Efforts were made to rush him to a nearby hospital, but he was confirmed dead before arrival.
Eneramo, who retired from professional football in 2018, remained active and regularly engaged in fitness routines within his community. During his playing career, he built an impressive profile, featuring for top clubs including Tunisia’s Espérance, as well as Turkish sides Beşiktaş, Sivasspor, and İstanbul Başakşehir.

On the international stage, Eneramo was widely respected for his commitment to Nigeria. Notably, he declined an opportunity to represent Tunisia and instead pledged his allegiance to the Super Eagles. He made a memorable debut against Tunisia during the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, scoring in that match. Over the course of his international career, he earned 10 caps and scored three goals for Nigeria.
