INEC Shifts PDP Names on Portal Amid Faction Row, Replaces Top Officials

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has updated its official portal, removing the names of Ahmed Yayari and Daniel Woyengikuro as National Treasurer and National Financial Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and replacing them with Odeyemi Mackson Oladiran and Eyim Donatus Henry respectively.

The development marks another shift in the ongoing leadership dispute within the Peoples Democratic Party, where rival factions have continued to contest control of key national offices and administrative structures.

The updated INEC portal now reflects Odeyemi Mackson Oladiran as National Financial Secretary and Eyim Donatus Henry as National Treasurer, replacing Ahmed Yayari and Daniel Woyengikuro, who are associated with the Makinde-backed Turaki faction of the party.

Political observers note that the newly listed officials are aligned with the faction linked to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, which has increasingly gained recognition in recent party administrative updates.

Earlier listings on the INEC portal had shown a mixed structure, where Abdulrahman Mohammed was reflected as National Chairman and Samuel Anyanwu as National Secretary, while still retaining Ahmed Yayari and Daniel Woyengikuro in their respective positions. That arrangement had generated confusion within party circles and among stakeholders monitoring the internal crisis.

However, the latest update appears to have fully aligned the PDP leadership entries on INEC’s portal with the Wike-aligned faction, effectively removing the earlier conflicting records and presenting a single administrative structure.

The development is expected to intensify political discussions within the party as rival camps continue to dispute legitimacy ahead of future political activities and internal restructuring processes.
