The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a change to the arrival and examination times for candidates scheduled to participate in the first session of the 2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Under the revised arrangement, candidates writing the first session of the examination are now required to arrive at their designated Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres by 7:30 a.m., instead of the earlier 6:30 a.m. reporting time.
The examination itself is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 10:30 a.m.
The adjustment is expected to provide some relief for candidates who live far from their assigned examination centres and would otherwise have to begin their journeys very early in the morning.
JAMB’s decision reflects concerns about the difficulties faced by candidates who travel considerable distances to their CBT centres. Requiring such candidates to arrive by 6:30 a.m. could mean leaving their homes before dawn, potentially creating additional transportation and safety challenges.
With the new schedule, candidates in the first examination session will have additional time to travel to their centres while still arriving early enough for the necessary examination procedures.
Candidates are therefore advised to take note of the updated reporting time and make adequate preparations ahead of the 2027 UTME. They should also check their examination details carefully and ensure they arrive at the correct CBT centre within the stipulated time.
