Rt. Hon. Obi Aguocha, member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has intensified engagement with Labour Party grassroots leaders as part of efforts to strengthen the party and promote greater unity ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Aguocha recently visited Ikwuano, where he held a strategic meeting with Labour Party ward chairmen from across the local government area. The engagement was also extended to ward chairmen in Umuahia North and Umuahia South Local Government Areas, respectively.
The meetings formed part of ongoing efforts to deepen grassroots mobilisation, improve internal cooperation and strengthen the party’s organisational structure across the federal constituency.
During the Ikwuano engagement, Aguocha was accompanied by Hon. Osinachi Hycinth Nwaka, Director-General of the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI), Abia State. The meeting was held at the residence of Comrade Lucky Nkemka in Okwe Community.
The discussions provided an opportunity for open dialogue, reconciliation and renewed commitment among party stakeholders. Participants deliberated on ways to consolidate the Labour Party’s presence at the grassroots while promoting cooperation among leaders and members.
Particular attention was given to strengthening ward structures, improving communication within the party and ensuring that members remain united and organised ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Speaking at the engagements, Aguocha highlighted some of his legislative achievements and ongoing efforts aimed at improving the welfare of constituents across Ikwuano, which is one of the three local government areas that make up the federal constituency he represents.
The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to effective representation, noting the importance of initiatives that can bring development, opportunities and improved living conditions closer to the people.
Aguocha also stressed that unity and grassroots participation remain critical to building a strong and sustainable political structure. He encouraged party leaders and members to put aside differences and work collectively towards shared objectives.
In his remarks, Hon. Osinachi Hycinth Nwaka urged the ward chairmen to remain committed to the ideals of the Labour Party and maintain discipline within the party structure.
Nwaka further encouraged the party officials to strengthen collaboration among themselves and remain focused on the collective interests of the party and the vision of His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, Governor of Abia State.
The engagements with ward chairmen across Ikwuano, Umuahia North and Umuahia South ended with renewed optimism among participants, with stakeholders expressing their commitment to greater cooperation and a stronger Labour Party grassroots structure.
