BREAKING: Video Claim of Tinubu Billboard Inside INEC Office

Viral video claiming Tinubu billboard inside INEC office in Rivers State debunked as false; location identified as pro-Tinubu secretariat.

A viral video alleging that a campaign billboard of Bola Ahmed Tinubu was mounted inside an office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Rivers State has been confirmed as misleading.

The 26-second clip, which began circulating early Thursday, sparked controversy after showing what appeared to be a “Renewed Hope” billboard within what the narrator claimed was an INEC facility. The claim quickly fueled speculation about possible bias by the electoral body ahead of the 2027 elections.

However, findings reveal that the location in the video is not an INEC office. Instead, the footage was recorded at a property located at 246 Aba Road in Port Harcourt identified by residents as the Rivers State Renewed Hope Ambassadors Secretariat. The building serves as a hub for a pro-Tinubu support group and is separate from INEC’s official premises.

The secretariat was commissioned in February 2026 by Nyesom Wike and is situated close to INEC’s Rivers State headquarters at 236 Aba Road.

Although the proximity of the buildings and possible shared boundary fencing with the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) may have contributed to confusion, there is no evidence that the billboard was placed inside any INEC facility.

Observers note that the rapid spread of the misinformation reflects the heightened political tension in Rivers State, where unverified claims can quickly gain traction. The incident underscores the importance of verifying content before drawing conclusions, especially on sensitive political matters.
